Runcorn Quiz 12 – The Answers

Hello again people and pooches. Joe the Cocker here. Here are the answers to the twelfth pictorial quiz abou Runcorn. We have had another large number of people playing along. Thank you everyone.

1 This door is at the front of the Grade II Listed Building, 53/55 High Street. The early 18th century building was once the home of Thomas Hazlehurst, the soap and alkali manufacturer.

2 A plaque appears on a row of houses in Halton Road. Opposite the opening from Sea Lane.

3 The library can be found in the colourful and imaginative Old Town Bloomers Garden on High Street, next to the solicitors and Natwest.

4 This wall mounted George V letter box can be found on the wall of Webb’s Builders on Halton Road. It is over 100 years old.

5 Hailwood Buildings can be found at the junction of High Street and Devonshire Place.

6 The signpost stands directly opposite the previous photo. It is on the corner of High Street with Doctor’s Bridge visible in the background.

7 The white horse can be seen on the corner of the Halfway House on Halton Road.

8 The building is Bridge View, B & B, Function Room. It was previously the ‘Buffs’, RAOB building at 78 High Street.

9 Victoria Buildings are located below Doctor’s Bridge on the corner of High Street.

10 The decoration can be seen repeated above shop level on Devonshire Buildings on High Street
