Widnes Quiz 5 – The answers

Hello again people and pooches. Joe the Cocker here with my human. The answers to our latest quiz are below. We hope that you enjoyed having a go and didn’t find the questions too hard, or too easy!

1 This is a section of a plaque on the old landing stage for the Transporter Bridge.

2 The photo showed a foot of the Ethelfleda Railway Bridge.

3 The arm of a lock gate at Spike Island

4 This is the walkway and viewpoint over the River Mersey at the side of the St. Helens Canal, by Fiddler’s Ferry power station.

5 The sculpture can be seen in Victoria Park at one end of the Woodland Walk

6 This milestone can be found in Victoria Park. It was saved after being hit by a bomb dropped by a zeppelin in WW2.

7 This is the commemorative statue of Thomas Mottershead VC.

8 This wreck of the Mersey Flat, Eustace Carey, and is in the mudflats off Spike Island

9 This photo shows Widnes Dock on Spike Island

10 The roof of Morrisons supermarket was the last photograph.
