West Highland Way Quiz – The Answers

We hope that you enjoyed having a go at our pictorial quiz. Currently, the person with the most correct answers is Jim Wright with 14 out of 15, on the West Highland Way group on Facebook.

  1. We walked alongside this loch. It is called Craigallian Loch and can be found a few miles from Milngavie.

2 This tiny settlement provides a bit of relief. An honesty box at the roadside in this hamlet of Gartness is well stocked and well appreciated.

3 Our campsite was at Drymen Camping. It is directly on the trail and provides a convenient stop for many after their first day on the trail.

4 After leaving the forest of Garadhban we were gifted with our first view of Loch Lomond.

5 This beautiful beach can be seen close to Millarochy on the banks of Loch Lomond.

6 This view is past Ardleish on the climb away from the end of Loch Lomond

7 A great homemade Chicken Bhuna was the reward for the days hike to Beinglass Farm Campsite bar and restaurant.

8 This stone marks a spot near a the Lochan of the Lost Sword, where Robert the Bruce is alleged to have thrown his sword.

9 Eating our lunch at the wild camping area by the Bridge of Orchy we saw someone capsizing their Kayak. Fortunately, all was well!

10 This popular wildcamping spot is located a few hundred metres from the Inveroran Hotel, by the side of the Allt Tolaghan.

12 The top of the Devil’s Staircase as thunder greeted us!

13 The burn regularly sweeps across the trail at this place on the climb out of Kinlochleven.

14 In the Nevis Forest we glimpsed the lower slopes of Ben Nevis shrouded in dense cloud.

15 An easy one to finish with in Fort William at the ‘new’ end!
